The Rise of Militant Islam

You cannot deal with the UK’s salient issues at the moment without dealing with Islam, as it has moved rapidly up the agenda. In the 1990s I used to discuss current affairs avidly with my father before he died, and Islam in the UK was rarely if ever a subject of our discussion. The EU,  freedom and liberty, Christianity, the Middle East and so on, yes, but never Islam in the UK. He would be shocked and surprised at how Islam has climbed the political agenda. If there can be so much change in the last twenty years, how much more change will there be in the next twenty? In dealing with this question, I am talking about militant Islam. Now if you are a moderate Moslem and have bought into UK culture, deciding to live here because you love this country and want to buy into the positive things it represents, there is no problem. But if you have an agenda to change this nation into an Islamic state, we have a big problem. Every Moslem individually should be treated with respect and dignity as a fellow human being, but this has to be separated from the ideology behind militant political Islam.

Part of the problem is a religious illiteracy amongst the so called elite in the nation. Fewer and fewer people in positions of authority in the land have a comprehensive understanding of the spiritual side of life, and a working knowledge of the world’s religions, their history and development, and simply the differences between those religions. This attitude also suffuses the population at large, and sadly many intelligent people. A former work colleague of mine, a very intelligent lady, expressed the view that Moslems and Christians worship the same God. A basic understanding of these two religions tells you there is no way this can be the case, that they are completely different from one another and Allah is light years from the God of the Bible, there is no way they are one and the same.  A statesman who does not have a keen awareness of the spiritual side of life and the importance of it to many people will be less of a statesman for it. The elite have less and less knowledge of the historic faith of this land, Christianity, which provides a clear framework for understanding other religions. They have also made the foundational error of treating all religions as equal, and equally irrelevant in the eyes of some. Religion just has to be tolerated, but should not have any place in public life, because we are beyond all that. Therefore they do not have the ability to discriminate between religions and to make sensible judgments on what is acceptable or unacceptable. Coupled with human rights and anti discrimination law, they have concocted a lethal cocktail which will sound the death knell of western society as we know it and render us powerless to defend our own culture and heritage. Christianity gives a nation a clear moral compass, whether or not you agree with its tenets, by which there is a unambiguous and absolute distinction between right and wrong. It gives an unfaltering ability to discern the murderous and ruthless spirit behind militant Islam.

If this issue is not dealt with now it will be ten times worse in five years time, and one hundred times worse in ten years time. The UK has so chained itself down with diversity, human rights, equality and antidiscrimination legislation that it is now incapable of knowing what is right and wrong and therefore taking the right action. The problem with the British is that we are too nice, addicted to niceness, and are afraid of offending anyone at the expense of telling the truth. If this state of affairs continues then there is no hope for us, but if the British can cast aside their natural reticence and politeness and stir up the warrior spirit that still lies deep within the nation, then something can be done. The British do not like fighting, but if they have to they will. And when I say fighting I do not mean picking up swords and guns and fighting physically. That is always the last resort when all else fails and you have absolutely no other course of action for survival. I mean standing up and very firmly and clearly stating what you believe, and that you expect anyone who settles in this country to abide by the way we do things here, and not to budge an inch. This will now require a quality of ruthlessness and great resolve which is rarely if ever seen in a western politician. Such a stance was taken a few years ago in Australia by John Howard who made it clear that immigrants are required to fit into Aussie culture, not the other way round. We can learn from this. The legislative framework that we have built around us to cater for minorities is as useless as a chocolate teapot when it comes to militant Islam. Behind militant Islam is a controlling and intimidating spirit that is rooted in fear. The only way to deal with it is to face it down head on which current western leadership refuses to do, because the short term price is too high. But better a little short term rough tossing than long term catastrophe.

What do I mean by militant Islam? Any Islam that believes in a worldwide caliphate, that believes that the whole world is a mosque, that believes that if you are not already a Moslem you have to become one or live as a second class citizen. It believes that worldwide legislation should be enacted even in western countries to protect Islam from criticism. And western leaders have been falling for this, in other words they want to protect a religion that many people believe to be incompatible with western democracy by shutting down criticism of it, simply because they are scared of a breakdown in ‘community cohesion.‘

Militant Islam believes in the death penalty for any male apostate, it believes women are second class citizens with less legal rights than men, it believes that it can kill, maim, burn, rape and murder with impunity anyone that stand against its evil ideology. It believes in political power, to gain representation at the ballot box to gain control of countries. It believes in emigrating to new lands unconquered by Islam, refusing to assimilate into the surrounding culture, pushing for the acceptance of its legal system in that country on a political level, and then when it is strong enough exporting to the rest of the country that same legal system. It believes in treating anyone who does not submit (Islam means submission) to their agenda as a second class citizen who is to be discriminated against. Such people are dhimmis who have to pay a tax to the ruling Islamic system. It believes in takiya, or deception to achieve its ends, in other words militant Moslems are allowed to practice deception to achieve their ends of establishing a worldwide caliphate. So they will pretend to be your friend but will always be plotting against you.

Militant Islam also uses the word ‘Islamophobia’ to deceitfully and stealthily achieve its ends. Again, behind this word is a bullying spirit that wants to shut down debate about Islam and stop people from scrutinising it, which is exactly what needs to happen. This is the exact spirit that holds sway in Islam dominated societies, where nobody dares step out of line and criticise Islam for fear of serious sanctions. If people want to live under that system, that is for them to decide. But it should be a different ball game here in the West. In effect by submitting to this bullying you assist in the Islamisation of western society.

Ultimately and terrifyingly it believes that the UK should become an Islamic state whose whole political, social and cultural order should be centred on Islamic doctrine. Militant Islam is an all incorporating ideology which covers the political, social, religious and cultural aspects of life, and will not be satisfied until it has full control over everything you do and say. It is the very antithesis of being British. Sadly it has already been said that Great Britain could be the first western nation to fall to militant Islam, and the reason will be because we were too ‘nice.’

One day the British people will realise they have been foolish in allowing militant Islam too much freedom to establish itself in this land, and unfortunately the price that will have to be paid is getting greater by the day.

In a sense the problem is not Islam, it is us. We are too soft and undiscerning. If you make things absolutely clear on what you expect in your country, then that provides a security for everyone. You have to be absolutely ruthless in your attitude and in upholding your values. Then militant Islamists know exactly where they stand and will not be comfortable in a society that judges their actions and words as beyond the pail. This will require a rediscovery of what it means to be British, of our culture and heritage, and an uncompromising attitude to what is profoundly wrong.
